Two Suspects Arrested in Southern Israel Over July Scooter Shooting Incident
Two residents of Kiryat Gat were arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of involvement in a shooting that occurred in July. The investigation began after a shooting victim arrived at Barzilai Hospital in Ashdod but did not cooperate with authorities regarding the circumstances of the incident. The case was then transferred to the Kiryat Gat police investigation unit under the guidance of the Southern District intelligence, which conducted a covert investigation using intelligence, technological tools, and various interrogation methods.
During a combined operational activity with the assistance of special units, one suspect was arrested in a hideout apartment in the city. The second suspect was later located, and a scooter believed to have been used during the shooting was seized. Both suspects were taken for questioning at the Kiryat Gat police station.
