Religious Leader Publicly Endorses Gadi Eizenkot as Israel's Next Prime Minister

Retired Brigadier General and religious-nationalist Hasidic Rabbi Hoshea Friedman publicly endorsed former IDF Chief of Staff and 'Yashar!' party leader Gadi Eizenkot as Israel's future prime minister. Speaking at a conference in Jerusalem at the World Center for North African Jewish Heritage, Friedman praised Eizenkot as "a brave, honest, and brilliant man" whom he has known for 46 years, including during military service under fire. Friedman, who heads the mixed pre-military preparatory program "Beit Yisrael" in Jerusalem, emphasized the depth of their long-standing relationship and military cooperation, noting Eizenkot's exceptional qualities and humility.

Although Friedman refrained from explicitly instructing the audience on how to vote, he gave a strong character testimony, calling Eizenkot a rare combination of courage, integrity, and genius. He also addressed Israel's deep political trust crisis, expressing hope that Eizenkot's leadership could help restore credibility and honesty to Israeli politics. However, Friedman warned that societal healing requires more than leadership change, urging citizens to foster new relationships based on honesty and hope.
