Senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard Adviser Says Iran May Prolong Conflict Until 2029

Mohammad Reza Nekadi, a senior adviser to the commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated in a PBS interview that Iran could extend its conflict with the United States until the end of President Trump's term in 2029. Nekadi emphasized Iran's goal to achieve deterrence so that no enemy dares to attack, suggesting prolonging the conflict would exhaust opponents and impose a high cost on any future aggressors.

Nekadi, who served as deputy coordinator of the IRGC from 2019 to 2025 and now advises its commander, claimed Iran has already won the war, mocking President Trump and describing the U.S. military as weaker than expected. He criticized Washington for lacking a clear strategy, noting frequent changes in declared targets such as the invasion of Kharg Island and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

He also highlighted that Iran is producing more missiles daily than it uses, warning that if Iran ever runs out of missiles, it would become even more dangerous to the U.S. due to America's extensive global economic interests, which Iran could easily target. Nekadi said the ongoing conflict has provided Iran with valuable combat experience against the U.S. military, which it had never faced before.
