Ilon Heitner Releases New Song 'Kol Atzmotai' Inspired by Shabbat Prayers

Israeli singer-songwriter Ilon Heitner has released a new single titled "Kol Atzmotai," which is based on words from traditional Shabbat prayers. The melody was originally conceived about six years ago during a car ride when Heitner heard a familiar Chabad tune accompanying the phrase "Kol Atzmotai T'amerna, Hashem Mi Kamocha" (All my bones shall say, Hashem, who is like You). Captivated by the words, he composed the first part of the song and recorded a short sketch to preserve the idea.

Despite this early start, the song remained unfinished and shelved for several years as Heitner focused on other projects. About two months ago, on his birthday, he rediscovered the old recording and resumed work at the piano, completing the composition. He further enriched the lyrics by incorporating additional phrases from Shabbat prayers, including "Mi Yadme Lecha," "Mi Yashveh Lecha," and "HaEl Hagadol Hagibor Vehanora," blending quiet prayer with expressions of faith and gratitude.

Heitner wrote, composed, and performs "Kol Atzmotai," marking a personal and spiritual milestone in his musical career by connecting traditional liturgical texts with his own melodic interpretation.
