Yitzhak Meir Releases New Song 'Kadesh Et Shimcha' Inspired by Sanctification Perspective
Israeli singer and songwriter Yitzhak Meir has released a new song titled "Kadesh Et Shimcha," which he composed using the words from the korbanot (sacrificial offerings) prayer recited after the morning blessings. Meir shared that working on this song gave him a unique perspective on the concept of sanctifying God's name (Kiddush Hashem).
Unlike his usual experience of releasing new music, where he hopes for success and that listeners will enjoy his work, Meir explained that this time his feelings were different due to the prayerful nature of the lyrics. The song is based on phrases such as "You are the witness before the world was created, You are after the world was created, You are in this world, and You are in the world to come," followed by the request to "sanctify Your name through those who sanctify Your name, and sanctify Your name in Your world."
Meir reflected that these words shifted his focus away from personal desires for popularity or approval, describing such concerns as "pathetic" compared to the song's spiritual message. He emphasized that the lyrics direct attention to something eternal that existed before humanity and will remain long after. He called this realization a "perspective of sanctifying God's name."
With the release of "Kadesh Et Shimcha," Meir expressed his hope that the song will inspire listeners to embrace this elevated perspective and deepen their love for the sanctification of God's name.
