Likud Court Rejects Petitions Against Reserved Seats for Katz, Sa'ar, and Haim Katz

The Likud party's internal court dismissed petitions challenging the reserved Knesset seats of Defense Minister Israel Katz, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, and Minister Haim Katz, who also chairs the party's central committee. The court's ruling referenced its prior approval of Israel Katz's reserved seat on August 2. It explained that Gideon Sa'ar's reserved seat resulted from the decision to run in the elections on a joint list that included his faction. Regarding Haim Katz, the court acknowledged that both the decision to reserve his seat and the timing of the announcement, made late at night, were somewhat surprising. However, the court found no grounds to support claims of a conflict of interest, stating that "rumors and journalistic fabrications cannot form the basis of our decisions."
