Left-Wing Activists Attempt to Enter Closed Military Zone in West Bank Using Ambulance

On Monday evening, left-wing activists attempted to enter a closed military area near the village of Kusra in the West Bank by using an ambulance that had prior coordination for passage. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) identified Israeli civilians inside the ambulance and prevented their entry. Among the activists was Andrey Kharzhanovsky, a Russian immigrant known for his anti-Israeli activism, who documented the attempt and his subsequent arrest after the IDF blocked the entrance.

The activists claimed their goal was to deliver aid to a Palestinian family reportedly besieged in their home following the establishment of an outpost by hilltop activists near Kusra. Initial military reports mistakenly suggested the attempt was made by hilltop activists themselves. The IDF confirmed the ambulance's passage was coordinated in advance to provide medical assistance to the Palestinian home under the closed military zone order.

Upon arrival, the IDF discovered Israeli civilians inside the ambulance trying to enter under its cover, leading to a security check of the vehicle. Further inspection was conducted by Judea and Samaria police. The IDF emphasized its ongoing efforts to facilitate medical teams' movement, including allowing ambulances to pass without inspection when properly coordinated.
