IDF Conscript Under Investigation Detained by Military Police Amid Ultra-Orthodox Protests

An IDF conscript, for whom extremist ultra-Orthodox groups plan to protest near Bnei Brak, was summoned for questioning as a suspect in an ongoing investigation. After the interrogation, it was revealed that he was absent without leave (AWOL), leading to his transfer to the military police instead of being released home. Police sources clarified that if he had been a victim providing testimony, he would not have been handed over to the military police. Shas party MK Moshe Abutbul contacted Police Commissioner Dany Levi, asserting that the individual is a yeshiva student who came to assist with the investigation.
