Parents and Infant Rescued from Apartment Fire Caused by Charging Laptop in Herzliya

Early Wednesday morning, a couple and their infant were rescued from a fire that broke out in their apartment on Rabbi Kook Street in Herzliya. The family was evacuated and taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Fire investigators determined that the blaze originated from a laptop left charging on the living room sofa. Firefighters from the Herzliya station responded promptly, conducting searches to locate the residents and extinguishing the fire.

Following the incident, the fire and rescue services issued a warning against placing laptops on sofas or beds while charging, as this can block ventilation openings, cause overheating, and ignite flammable fabric. They also emphasized the importance of installing smoke detectors in homes to enable early fire detection and provide crucial time for safe evacuation.
