Parents and Infant Rescued from Herzliya Apartment Fire Caused by Charging Laptop on Sofa

Early Wednesday morning, a couple and their infant were rescued from a fire that broke out in their apartment on Harav Kook Street in Herzliya. They were evacuated and taken to the hospital in light condition. Initial investigations by fire investigators determined that the fire originated from a laptop left charging on the living room sofa. Firefighters from the Herzliya station responded promptly, conducting searches to locate the family members and extinguishing the flames.

Following the incident, the Fire and Rescue Services issued a warning against placing laptops on sofas or beds while charging, as this can block ventilation openings, cause overheating, and potentially ignite flammable fabrics. They also emphasized the importance of installing smoke detectors in homes to enable early fire detection and provide crucial time for safe evacuation.
