Israeli Chef Israel Aharoni Shares Personal Insights and Upcoming Projects

Israel Aharoni, the renowned Israeli chef, spoke from his home in Tel Aviv about his daily routines, family life, and professional ventures. He described his ideal coffee as a strong long espresso with frothed milk, always enjoyed at home on Rothschild Boulevard, where he has lived for three years after moving from a previous apartment where he spent 33 years. Aharoni emphasized the importance of family, sharing that he regularly cooks large meals for his extended family of 13 to 17 people every Friday.

Professionally, Aharoni is expanding his culinary brand with a new branch of Aharoni's Fried Chicken in Tel Aviv's Levontin neighborhood, adding to existing locations in Sarona and Big Glilot. He is also preparing for the upcoming season of the television show MasterChef, which he describes as an exciting project. Additionally, his food truck will participate in the Magda Music Festival in the Megiddo Regional Council.

Aharoni revealed personal habits such as washing his face multiple times a day and a quirky fixation on the number 13. He shared a memorable piece of advice he gave himself to avoid arrogance, humorously phrased as "the urine is not going to your head," which he applies to others as well. He reflected on his childhood in Haifa, his late father, and his appreciation for his current life and home.

He expressed concerns about the current social climate in Israel, fearing internal conflict and hatred. Aharoni also discussed his recent health challenges, including cancer treatment and weight gain, and his efforts to improve his health. Among his greatest achievements, he counts the TV show "The Wonderful Journey of Aharoni and Gidi," which led to a lasting friendship with co-host Gidi Gov.

When asked about his ideal superpower, he chose invisibility, and he admitted to disliking beer and electricity. He values loyalty in friends and admires artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Monet, Van Gogh, and Israeli artists Zadok Ben-David and Lea Nickel. If not a chef, he would have pursued painting, a passion he studied in the Netherlands after his military service.
