PM Advisor Denies Egypt's Involvement in Regional 'Lull' Strategy Ahead of War

Yonatan Urich, a senior advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, indicated that Egypt is not among the countries involved in a reported regional strategy to advise another state to ease tensions and reach an agreement with Israel as a way to 'lull' it during preparations for a larger conflict. Urich made these remarks on the social media platform X in response to accusations by advisor Itzik Elrov, who claimed that Netanyahu was leaking information against a Middle Eastern country, implied to be Egypt, to tarnish its reputation amid controversies related to Qatar. Urich clarified, "It is not Egypt." This follows a report by Kan News stating that officials from one country in the region advised another to compromise and sign a deal with Israel to create a deceptive calm while preparing for a significant confrontation.
