Talbiyeh Group Opens New Versatile Patisserie Branch in Jerusalem's Schechter Institute
The Talbiyeh culinary group from Jerusalem is expanding its presence in the city with a new branch of Talbiyeh Patisserie at the Schechter Institute. This new location offers a wide variety of products beyond traditional pastries, including sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and Italian gelato. The patisserie features unique items such as Basque gâteau filled with almond cream, exclusive in Israel, alongside other desserts like Black Forest and Sachertorte, as well as frozen cakes for purchase. Specialty coffee is served from the local Casual brand.
The menu caters to all dayparts, with a breakfast selection including classic Israeli dishes like a duo breakfast platter (138 NIS), cheese or spinach burekas (42 NIS), and brioche sandwiches with gravlax and avocado or egg salad (38-52 NIS). Five types of salads are available, ranging from Sabich to Italian and Greek styles, priced between 56 and 62 NIS. Evening offerings include family-sized pizzas made with New York-style dough and Neapolitan options such as Di Bufala and Marinara (62 NIS).
The venue provides both outdoor seating on a deck with mats and low chairs, and a small air-conditioned indoor area within the Schechter Institute's administration building. Ample parking is available, a notable convenience in Jerusalem. The atmosphere shifts throughout the day, attracting young parents in the morning, children for gelato at midday, and families or couples for dinner and drinks in the evening.
Talbiyeh Group, which operates eight businesses in Jerusalem including restaurants, a wine bar, and a gelato shop, is also preparing to open a new kosher fine-dining meat restaurant near the Cinematheque in a location formerly occupied by the now-closed Lavan restaurant. Additionally, a food truck serving indulgent burgers from JLM Burger Room will soon join the Schechter Institute site, operating also on Saturdays. This expansion reflects the group's growth, supported by a production facility in Talpiot supplying its outlets.
The new Talbiyeh Patisserie branch aims to provide a relaxed, neighborhood-friendly spot with quality food and diverse options for Jerusalem residents and visitors alike. It is located at 4 Avraham Granot Street, Jerusalem, and is kosher certified.
