Iran's Khamenei Announces Senior Military Appointments, Vahidi Retains IRGC Command

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has announced a series of senior military appointments, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim. Ali Abdollahi was appointed as the new Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, replacing the previous commander. Kioumars Heydari was named Deputy Chief of the General Staff. Ahmad Vahidi was officially confirmed as the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), with Mostafa Izadi appointed as his deputy. Additionally, Ali Azmai was promoted to commander of the IRGC Navy, and Hossein Taeb was assigned as the head of the Basij militia force. These appointments reflect a reshuffling of Iran's top military leadership under Khamenei's directive.
