Idan Vered Highlights Chaos at Red Star Belgrade After Shock Loss to Hapoel Be'er Sheva

Idan Vered, a former player of Red Star Belgrade who spent half a season there in 2015/16, commented on the turmoil within the Serbian club following their unexpected 1-0 defeat to Hapoel Be'er Sheva. Vered, who remains closely connected to the club especially after Barak Bachar's recent signing as coach, described the situation as "total chaos". He noted that Red Star underestimated Be'er Sheva's pace and intensity, being more familiar with Israeli teams like Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Vered pointed out that Red Star was confident of victory, especially after the departure of Be'er Sheva's key player Kangwa, but the loss has shaken the club deeply. He also mentioned internal issues, including the absence of Milan Pavkov, a club legend and key player who did not start in the previous match but is expected to play in the upcoming game at Marakana stadium.

Vered emphasized the high stakes for Red Star, whose €90 million budget demands Champions League qualification, making any failure to reach the group stage a significant setback. He expressed strong faith in Hapoel Be'er Sheva's coach Ran Kojukh, praising his consistent tactics and ability to maximize his players' potential. Vered hopes Be'er Sheva can secure a positive result in the first half of the upcoming match to exploit weaknesses in Red Star's defense and advance in the competition.
