One Goat Escapes Ohio Deputies After Backyard Roundup
Butler County sheriff’s deputies in Ohio were called to a home after eight goats were found wandering in the backyard. The homeowners said the animals were not theirs, and deputies contacted the goats’ rightful owner.
According to the sheriff’s office, even after a long negotiation that included snacks and attempts at persuasion, the goats were reluctant to leave their temporary new home. Officers eventually rounded up seven of them and returned them, but one goat refused to cooperate.
Authorities said the missing goat escaped capture by jumping off an SUV roof and running into a nearby wooded area. The sheriff described the animal as a short, very stubborn and very mischievous white goat with brown markings on the right side of its face.
Police asked the public to report any sighting of the runaway goat. They added, jokingly, that it is not considered dangerous, but may be “armed with a lot of audacity.”
