Southampton Set to Loan Manchester City Young Star Devine Mbama to Boost Promotion Bid

Southampton, aiming to secure promotion to the Premier League after narrowly missing out last season due to non-sporting reasons, is close to finalizing a loan deal for 21-year-old striker Devine Mbama from Manchester City. Mbama, who impressed during Manchester City's preseason by scoring against Inter Milan and assisting against Atletico Madrid, has been hailed as the standout player in City's preseason squad.

Mbama boasts an impressive record with England's youth teams, scoring five goals in seven appearances. He developed through West Ham's youth academy before moving to Manchester City and spent last season on loan at Stoke City in the Championship, where he scored five goals in 26 appearances as a rotational player. Southampton hopes that adding Mbama alongside their Israeli forward Daniel Peretz will strengthen their attack and help them achieve promotion in the upcoming season.
