Veteran Likud MK Yuli Edelstein Set to Resign, Erez Tadmor to Replace Him

Veteran Likud Member of Knesset Yuli Edelstein is expected to submit his resignation letter in the coming days, following his announcement to leave the party and establish a new political platform with Gilad Erdan. This development is part of ongoing changes within the Likud party list, affecting who will fill the party's Knesset seats.

According to the Likud list order, the next candidate to enter the Knesset was originally Tzachi Hanegbi. However, Hanegbi left the list upon his appointment as head of the National Security Council. Consequently, Erez Tadmor, currently competing in the Likud primaries, is next in line to replace Edelstein. Legal assessments suggest that Tadmor may not be eligible for party funding during his expected late-term tenure in the Knesset.
