Ten Rescued as Boat Begins Sinking in Northern Sea of Galilee

Over the weekend, ten passengers were rescued from a boat that started sinking in the northern Sea of Galilee after departing from Stai Beach. The maritime police unit responded promptly to reports about the vessel and its passengers. Upon arrival, officers instructed everyone on board to wear life jackets. Working alongside a Magen David Adom (MDA) rescue boat, they safely evacuated all ten passengers to another vessel and then brought them ashore unharmed before the boat fully sank.

The police emphasized the importance of checking the seaworthiness of boats and ensuring the presence of a phone and safety equipment before setting out. They also advised reporting any emergencies to the Israeli Police emergency number 100. This incident highlights ongoing safety concerns on the Sea of Galilee, where recent warnings have been issued about waterborne parasites and other risks.
