Four Rescued After Drifting Deep into Sea of Galilee on Inflatable Mattress
During the peak of the summer vacation, four men were swept into the deep waters of the Sea of Galilee while on an inflatable mattress. The incident occurred on the afternoon of the report, with the initial call received by Magen David Adom (MDA) at 13:49 in the Jordan region. A passerby engaged in water sports spotted the men drifting and alerted emergency services.
MDA paramedic Eyal Davidson described the rescue operation, explaining that the team reached the men using MDA's emergency treatment boat. Two of the men suffered from dehydration and received immediate medical care, including fluid replacement, while still on the boat returning to Hukok beach. After their condition improved, neither required hospital transport.
The Ministry of Health also issued a warning about a parasite in the Sea of Galilee that can impair vision, highlighting ongoing health concerns related to the lake. The swift response by MDA teams ensured the safety and recovery of all four individuals involved in the incident.
