Ra'am MK Walid al-Hawashla Calls for Increased Arab Political Mobilization to Oust Government
Ra'am party member of Knesset Walid al-Hawashla urged the Arab community in Israel to intensify political awareness and advocacy ahead of the upcoming Knesset elections. He emphasized the need for broad voter participation to challenge and ultimately bring down the current government. Al-Hawashla criticized the government’s policies toward Arab citizens, highlighting issues such as the demolition of illegal homes, afforestation projects, forced evictions, and land confiscations as examples of systemic harm.
He called for a grassroots approach to raising political consciousness, starting from family circles and extending to neighborhoods and cities, to ensure the Arab community understands the importance of protecting its interests through electoral participation. Al-Hawashla described the current government as "extreme," accusing it of suppressing and ignoring the needs of Arab Israelis. He stressed the urgency of strong political engagement, stating, "83 days - we can change the equation."
