Islamic Movement Leader Urges Arab Voters to Back Ra'am for Political Influence

Sheikh Spivak Freij, head of the Islamic Movement's southern branch represented by the Ra'am party, has outlined the party's political strategy ahead of the upcoming elections. In a Facebook post, Freij called on the Arab public to vote en masse to secure a position of influence in shaping government policy. He emphasized that political change begins not with complaints but with a decision to exercise voting power in the Knesset elections.

Freij identified key issues facing the Arab community, including home demolitions, housing shortages, violence and crime, discrimination, and civil and religious rights. He argued these problems stem from government policies that can be altered through political engagement. According to Freij, those seeking real solutions must aim to correct these injustices by changing policies via democratic participation.

He stressed that sustainable change requires building political power, participating in decision-making, and influencing legislation and governments through the ballot box. Freij highlighted that Ra'am's election campaign focuses on joining a coalition government that would replace the current right-wing administration, enabling the party to advance its demands and effect policy shifts by impacting decision-making centers.
