Hapoel and Maccabi Tel Aviv Secure Toto Cup Semifinal Spots Ahead of Next Week's Matches
The Toto Cup group stage is nearing completion, with the semifinal lineup beginning to take shape. Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv have already secured their places in the semifinals after defeating Beitar Jerusalem and Hapoel Be'er Sheva, respectively. These two Tel Aviv teams are placed in separate halves of the draw, meaning they can only meet in the final scheduled for December.
The opponent for Hapoel Tel Aviv was confirmed following Hapoel Kiryat Shmona's 3-1 victory over Hapoel Haifa at Sammy Ofer Stadium. Kiryat Shmona will face Hapoel Tel Aviv for a spot in the final. Meanwhile, Maccabi Tel Aviv's semifinal rival will be either Maccabi Netanya or Hapoel Ramat Gan. Currently, Maccabi Netanya leads their group with 9 points but has played one more match than the newly promoted Maccabi Petah Tikva, who will face Hapoel Ramat Gan tomorrow. Any result other than a win for Ramat Gan will send Netanya to the semifinals against the cup holders.
The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, August 15, exactly one week from now. The final will take place in December, though the exact date has not yet been set.
