Israeli Reporter Urges Trump in Arabic to Scrap Iran Deal
As Washington marked President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday, Moshe Aryeh, the outlet’s Arab affairs correspondent, recorded a message to the White House in Arabic urging Trump to abandon the emerging agreement with Iran. Aryeh said Iran “does not understand any language other than the language of force” and called on Trump to “tear up this agreement before it is too late.”
In the video, which spread online and drew wide attention, Aryeh addressed Trump as “leader of the world” and said he did not want “another surrender agreement.” He said he chose to speak directly in Arabic, the language he said people in the Middle East understand, rather than offer polite congratulations. He also argued that while Israeli leaders focus on diplomacy and “polite tweets,” Iran is “celebrating and strengthening.”
Aryeh said he acted after growing tired of “the concept” and of “Western conventions that only interpret weakness as an invitation for more Iranian aggression.” He added that “they despise weakness, and they value strength,” and said speaking to Trump “in their language” and urging him to use “an iron fist” would resonate. He said the video was not made “for likes,” but because it was time to stop “groveling.”
The message came amid what the article described as extreme protests in Iran against the deal being negotiated with the United States. In Tehran, demonstrators denounced officials conducting the talks and said they were acting without the approval of the supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. The article also said that in recent days the U.S. military had been prepared for a major ground invasion of Iran to seize enriched uranium stockpiles, but Trump canceled the secret, urgent plan hours before launch because of security risks and a diplomatic breakthrough.
