Suspicious Drug-Like Substance Found Sewn Into Clothes Brought to Prisoner

Prison officers, working with a sniffer dog, found a substance suspected to be a dangerous drug during a targeted search at Tzalmon Prison. The material was concealed and sewn into clothing brought by a woman visiting her imprisoned son.

The search took place before the items were handed over to the inmate. After the discovery, the visitor was detained at the scene until Israel Police arrived and took her for further questioning.

The Israel Prison Service said it will continue to act decisively against attempts to smuggle prohibited materials into prisons, using operational, technological, and intelligence tools to protect facility security and prison order.
