Sigal Shachmon’s Bedroom Rituals Blend Design and Spiritual Beliefs
Sigal Shachmon, 55, opened the door to her bedroom and described the rituals and design choices she says help her sleep, attract balance, and support relationships. In an Instagram video that drew 255,000 views, she said she places a clear glass of water by her bed every night, leaves it there until morning, and then pours it out because it is meant to absorb energy. She said the practice began after a period of poor sleep and restless nights, especially during menopause, and that after a week she noticed better sleep and clearer dream recall.
Shachmon told mako she has continued the routine “like brushing my teeth.” She also said she uses bedroom design to create harmony, including keeping the room uncluttered, avoiding strong colors, and placing two similar items in the room to encourage זוגיות, or couplehood. In her own bedroom, she has a deep olive-brown wall with two small gold bee decorations, which she associates with abundance, fertility, hard work, and making the impossible possible.
She said she added red elements, including a red dress on the wardrobe and a red flower arrangement, to increase passion. She also prefers warm, dim lighting and a good speaker for music she believes cleans energy. She said she is not in a relationship and is not looking for one, but expects one to come.
Beyond entertainment, acting, and mental coaching, Shachmon said she has also worked as an interior designer. She said she has moved 16 times in 20 years, since her marriage and divorce, and that this taught her how to redesign with the same furniture. Her latest project was a cafeteria makeover on a tight budget. She said a home reveals its owner, that hers has no trends and favors timeless classics, and that she has lived for eight years in a modest rented house that was once the first bank in the settlement.
