Israeli Government Firms Launch Anonymous Reporting Channel to Protect Election Integrity

As Israel's elections approach, the Government Companies Authority is intensifying efforts to ensure election integrity within state-owned companies. On July 15, the Authority issued binding guidelines for employees of government firms and appointed an external supervisor, CPA Yaakov Ginzburg, to oversee compliance with these directives. Ginzburg has now established an anonymous external reporting channel allowing employees to confidentially report any irregularities or political pressures they encounter.

This reporting system is designed especially for cases where employees cannot or prefer not to use internal company mechanisms, including situations involving senior officials. Ginzburg urged staff to report any political coercion, partisan use of employees, politically motivated appointments or recruitment, misuse of company resources for election propaganda, or any conduct raising concerns about improper use of company assets. Employees are encouraged to send reports via a dedicated email address, preferably from unidentifiable accounts to maintain anonymity.

In his communication to employees, Ginzburg assured that reporters’ identities will remain confidential and that only a small, authorized team bound by confidentiality agreements will review the reports. While these measures aim to streamline oversight and do not imply suspicion toward any specific company, they come amid growing public discourse on election integrity and attempts to prevent disruptions during the upcoming vote.

The initiative reflects a proactive approach by Israeli authorities to safeguard the electoral process within public sector entities, emphasizing the critical role of employee cooperation in providing a complete picture of potential violations.
