Meliha Gogbakan, a Turkish citizen and Uber driver, was arrested in New Jersey for impersonating a senior advisor close to former President Donald Trump. According to authorities, Gogbakan used AI-generated images to pose as the official and charged $3,000 from investors applying for US visas without submitting their applications. He is currently held at the Delainey Hall detention facility in New Jersey. Meanwhile, lawyers representing the scam victims have filed criminal complaints with both Turkish prosecutors and US cybercrime units. The case has caused significant embarrassment for the White House due to the fraudulent use of a Trump associate's identity.
