The US Air Force has started relocating some of its Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft from Ben Gurion Airport. This move follows pressure from Israeli Transportation Minister Merav Michaeli on security officials to ensure smooth and uninterrupted airport operations during the peak travel season. In August, Ben Gurion is expected to handle over 2.6 million passengers, marking one of the busiest periods since October 7. Daily passenger numbers are projected to average around 100,000, with Thursdays and Monday, August 17, anticipated as the busiest days at the airport.
