Jewish Suspects Accused of Arson Attack on Home in South Hebron Hills Injuring Two Females

Israeli military forces responded on the evening of August 5 to reports of Israeli civilians attacking Palestinians and setting fire to homes in the Masafer Yatta area of the southern Hebron Hills. The arson attack targeted a house where a mother and her daughters were present, resulting in injuries to two females, including a child. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the suspects fled the scene before their arrival, and no arrests have been made so far.

The IDF identified burned structures, graffiti, and damaged property at the site, describing the incident as potentially nationalistic in nature. Police from the Judea and Samaria District have joined the investigation to collect evidence. The IDF strongly condemned the attack.

This incident is part of a series of similar violent acts in the area recently. Two days prior, Jewish assailants set fire to several vehicles between the Palestinian villages of Jalud and Talfit near the Israeli settlement of Shiloh in the Binyamin region. Anti-Arab graffiti including the words "revenge," "Avi go home," and Star of David symbols were sprayed at the scene. The phrase "Avi" refers to Central Command Chief Avi Blot.

About two weeks ago, Palestinians reported multiple violent attacks on several sites, including the torching of mosques in the villages of Kusra and Kur, accompanied by graffiti with messages such as "revenge Binyahu" and "Jewish blood is not cheap," referencing Binyahu Malt. These events highlight escalating tensions and violence in the southern West Bank.

The investigation into the latest arson attack continues as security forces work to prevent further violence in the region.
