Palo Alto Networks Joins Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Flagship Indices with 5% Weight Cap
Palo Alto Networks, the cybersecurity giant, has been added to the flagship indices of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE), including the TA-35 and TA-125, with a maximum weight cap of 5%. This inclusion is being implemented gradually, starting with an initial weight of 25% of the calculated allocation, increasing to 50% in the next index update scheduled for November, and reaching full weight in the third update after joining. The weight cap reflects TASE rules limiting the combined weight of foreign stocks linked to the same country to 8% across these indices. Consequently, the weight cap for Ormat Technologies, another American company already included in the indices, was reduced from 4% to 3%, with its current actual weight at approximately 2.7%. Without the combined weight restriction, Palo Alto Networks could have had a 7% cap, the maximum allowed for a single stock in the TA-35 index.
Palo Alto Networks expressed pride in joining the TASE flagship indices, emphasizing their commitment to cybersecurity and the digital lifestyle. The company highlighted its strong ties to Israel, noting its employment of thousands of professionals in the country and its dedication to investing and expanding its presence within Israel's technology ecosystem. This move underscores Palo Alto's long-term commitment to deepening partnerships with the Israeli innovation community and shaping the future of cybersecurity.
The inclusion of Palo Alto Networks in the TASE indices marks a significant milestone for the company and reflects the growing integration of global tech firms within Israel's financial markets. The gradual implementation of the weight cap ensures a smooth transition and adherence to index regulations, balancing foreign stock representation within the exchange.
