Israeli News Anchor Tel Meir Surprises Viewers by Spotting Nephew Joining Paratroopers

During a live broadcast of the morning show "Israel HaBoker" on Channel 14, news anchor Tel Meir unexpectedly recognized her nephew, Eitan, at the military recruitment center just before his enlistment in the Israeli Paratroopers Brigade. She sent him a heartfelt "big hug from the studio" and expressed pride in his decision to join the combat unit amid ongoing conflict. Eitan shared that the war motivated him to pursue a highly combat-focused role and to advance as much as possible within the brigade. He also thanked his family for their support before and during the recruitment process.

In a lighthearted moment, Meir asked if he had considered joining the Golani Brigade, to which Eitan firmly replied no. Meir joked that coming from a family of paratroopers, he would have faced opposition from his father and grandfather if he had chosen otherwise. She concluded emotionally, noting how her youngest nephew was now becoming a soldier.

Another recruit, Roy Maalash, also joining the Paratroopers, spoke about his sense of mission and determination to complete training and enter combat quickly. He acknowledged challenges ahead, including religious and social differences, as he is a religious soldier joining a regular combat unit, but expressed confidence in overcoming them.
