Progressive Muslim Candidate Abdul El-Sayed Wins Michigan Democratic Senate Primary Amid Fierce Israel Debate

Abdul El-Sayed, a Muslim progressive candidate known for his critical stance on Israel, has been declared the winner of the Michigan Democratic Senate primary, defeating moderate and pro-Israel candidate Haley Stevens. Stevens and moderate Democrats had hoped her more centrist stance would better position the party to retain the Michigan Senate seat in the general election.
