Left-Wing Activists Storm Religious Zionism Party Headquarters in Shoham, Prompting Police Investigation

Activists from the far-left group "Standing Together" forcibly entered the Religious Zionism party headquarters in Shoham on Wednesday, blocking exits and staging a protest inside the building. The demonstrators wore red-stained shirts, smeared red paint on their hands and the premises, and held signs as part of their demonstration.

Eyewitness Hila Vatkin, present during the incident, described the tense moments to Channel 14, recalling how the activists appeared covered in red paint and how a staff member from the Gaza border area became visibly distressed. The protesters fled the scene upon learning that police were en route.

Initially, police characterized the event as a peaceful protest with the activists leaving before officers arrived. However, following criticism from the party and intervention by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, the police issued a clarification condemning any incitement, violence, or illegal acts disguised as protest. Officers later collected testimonies from party employees present during the intrusion.

Religious Zionism party leader and minister Bezalel Smotrich strongly condemned the attack, calling it a serious incident that demands investigation and prosecution of those involved. The party demanded police assurances for the safety of political party workers across Israel and emphasized that violence has no place in political discourse.
