Shas Condemns Supreme Court for Freezing Budget Transfers, Accuses It of Bias

The Shas party sharply criticized the Israeli Supreme Court's decision to freeze budget transfers amounting to billions of shekels, including funds allocated to religious institutions and settlements. These transfers were approved the previous day by the Knesset Finance Committee. Shas accused the court of acting as an extension of the opposition, stating that the court trampled on the Knesset's authority. The party highlighted what it called blatant hypocrisy, noting that the previous government transferred coalition funds in a similar manner just a week before elections without judicial intervention. Shas emphasized that the rules suddenly changed when it concerns the Haredi community, calling the situation disgraceful.
