Two Siblings Drown in Michigan Lake During Family Vacation in Indiana

Hannah Malka Zweig, 21, and her brother Yosef Yehuda Zweig, 18, tragically drowned after the boat they were on capsized during a family vacation near Lake Michigan. The incident occurred on Monday in South Bend, Indiana, where the family had gone boating. Rescue teams launched an extensive search and rescue operation under challenging conditions. Both siblings were found and rushed to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital, where medical staff fought to save them, but they were ultimately pronounced dead.

Hannah Malka and Yosef Yehuda were the children of Yehoshua and Hadassah Zweig from South Bend. They were also grandchildren of Rabbi Yochanan Zweig, founder of the Talmudic University of Florida and the "Kollel Beit Moshe Chaim" yeshiva in Miami Beach. The tragedy has deeply shocked their family and the local Jewish community, where the siblings were known as beloved and respected young individuals.
