17-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Private Pool in Safed, Hospitalized in Critical Condition

A 17-year-old boy lost consciousness while swimming in a private pool at his home on Golan Street in Safed on Tuesday evening. Emergency medical teams from United Hatzalah and Magen David Adom (MDA) arrived promptly and provided life-saving treatment at the scene.

United Hatzalah paramedics Yechiel Roschky, Yossi Markovitz, and Chaim Meir Rotner administered initial respiratory support before the boy was transported to Ziv Medical Center in Safed. MDA paramedic Oren Neaman and motorcycle medic Ronen Hadassi reported that the boy was unconscious when pulled from the water and required urgent medical intervention. He was taken to the hospital intubated and sedated in critical condition.

The circumstances leading to the drowning are believed to be medical in nature, though no further details were provided. The rescue teams emphasized the rapid response and coordinated effort that helped stabilize the teenager before hospital transfer.
