Homeless Woman Arrested for Stabbing 75-Year-Old Man in Central Tel Aviv
On the evening of January 17, 2026, a 75-year-old man was seriously injured in a stabbing attack on Levinsky Street in Tel Aviv. Eyewitnesses reported that the victim was stabbed, and passersby found him injured and lying on the street, prompting them to call emergency services. Paramedics from Magen David Adom provided life-saving treatment and transported the man to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
Police officers from the Sar-T station and forensic investigators arrived promptly at the scene to collect evidence and gather witness statements. Shortly after, with the assistance of Tel Aviv municipal patrols, they located and arrested a 27-year-old homeless woman suspected of involvement in the attack. She was taken in for questioning at the Sar-T police station.
Authorities have ruled out robbery as a motive and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which is classified as a criminal case. The police plan to request an extension of the suspect's detention at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
