Finance Committee Chair Clashes with Protesters Over Settlement Funding

During a heated session of the Knesset Finance Committee on Tuesday, Chairman MK Hanoch Milwitsky sharply criticized left-wing protesters opposing budget transfers to the Settlement Ministry. The discussion focused on reallocating billions of shekels, including over 300 million shekels to the Settlement Ministry, tens of millions to Jewish cultural and ultra-Orthodox educational institutions, and 26 million shekels for a program aimed at preventing dropout from yeshivas. Milwitsky confronted one activist directly, telling her to "remove your hands and feet before speaking about settlers," and called the protesters "disgusting," "a mixed multitude," and "worse than terrorists and collaborators." Prior to the committee meeting, MK Naama Lazimi and the NGO Hadash submitted a petition to the Supreme Court challenging the legality of these budget transfers. The court is expected to hear the petition tomorrow.
