Man Throws Grenade at Residential Compound in Rahat Amid Family Feud and Flees

A resident of Rahat was indicted in Be'er Sheva court for throwing a grenade into a residential compound belonging to another family in the city. According to the indictment, the suspect arrived with three others near a wadi adjacent to the compound, carrying a hand grenade while the targeted family was inside their homes. The suspect then threw the grenade into the compound, which exploded after a few seconds, causing property damage. Following the explosion, the suspect and his accomplices fled the scene.

Police launched an investigation and subsequently arrested the suspect at the Rahat police station. The suspect's defense attorney, Amit Weitzman, stated that although a grenade was indeed thrown at the complainant's home, the police had misidentified the suspect and that he was not the person they were seeking. The matter will be clarified during the legal proceedings.

This incident highlights the violent nature of ongoing family disputes in the area, where such attacks are used to settle scores. The case is currently progressing through the judicial system.
