Peace Council Urges Netanyahu to Halt Gaza Strikes for 14-Day Negotiation Period

Nikolay Mladenov, the United Nations Special Coordinator for Gaza representing the Peace Council, has requested Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cease all military strikes and targeted killings in Gaza for a 14-day period. This pause is intended to allow the commencement of negotiations on the details of an agreement with Hamas, according to sources within the Peace Council. The proposed agreement includes launching a detailed timetable within 14 days of the plan's approval to transfer civilian and security authorities to the National Committee for Gaza Management. The Peace Council stated that during this negotiation window, Israel was expected to halt its attacks in Gaza, but it has not complied with this condition so far.
