Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed the Israeli Supreme Court on Monday that he intends to appoint a new Interior Minister before the upcoming elections. The leading candidates for the position are Ofir Katz and Miki Zohar. Approximately ten days ago, Kan News reported that Netanyahu is expected to implement a series of ministerial changes, partly aimed at easing opposition within the Likud party regarding primary election reforms. As the government is currently in a caretaker status, Netanyahu holds the authority to appoint ministers without requiring Knesset approval.
