Montenegrin Forward Marko Rakonjac Signs with Maccabi Petah Tikva for Upcoming Season

Marko Rakonjac officially signed with Maccabi Petah Tikva on August 3, 2026, agreeing to a one-year contract with an option for a second season. The Montenegrin striker, who previously played for Hapoel Jerusalem, will reunite with coach Ziv Arie at the club. After a season outside the Israeli Premier League, Maccabi Petah Tikva has returned to top-tier Israeli football and strengthened their attack by acquiring Rakonjac.

Standing 1.91 meters tall, Rakonjac joined Maccabi Petah Tikva as a free agent. During his half-season with Hapoel Jerusalem, he scored two goals in 14 appearances and helped the team avoid relegation. He has also played for Lokomotiv Moscow and Red Star Belgrade, where he won the domestic league and cup. Additionally, Rakonjac has one cap for the Montenegrin national team.
