Red Star Belgrade Coach Prepares for Tough Clash Against Hapoel Be'er Sheva in Champions League

On Tuesday at 20:30, Hapoel Be'er Sheva will host Red Star Belgrade in Sombathely, Hungary, for the first leg of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. The return leg is scheduled for a week later. Ahead of the match, Red Star's coach, Dejan Stanković, spoke about the Israeli team, describing them as a good opponent that plays attacking football. He emphasized the need for concentration and belief to advance, based on his analysis of Be'er Sheva's recent games.

Stanković noted that Be'er Sheva aims to be dominant and takes considerable risks, especially in knockout stages. He described them as not particularly fast but agile and very brave, highlighting their strong counterattack as their main threat. The coach also commented on the recent departure of Kings Kangwa to Panathinaikos, calling him Be'er Sheva's MVP and suggesting the team will need to adapt without him.

When asked about preferring Be'er Sheva over Vikingur, whom Red Star eliminated earlier, Stanković said both teams have pros and cons but acknowledged it was more convenient to travel to Hungary than Iceland. He concluded that to compete in the Champions League, teams must overcome such challenges.
