Jerusalem Court Blocks Transfer of Nile Crocodiles to Ketziot Prison
The Jerusalem District Court issued a temporary injunction preventing the Israeli government from proceeding with plans to transfer Nile crocodiles to Ketziot Prison. The order came shortly after the animal rights group Let the Animals Live filed an urgent administrative petition to halt the move. Judge Avraham Rubin ruled that, for now, the state is prohibited from locating or preparing the crocodiles for transfer. The injunction will remain in effect until a decision is made on a preliminary injunction request, following the state's response, which is due by August 16. This ruling effectively stops the plan promoted by ministers Idith Silman and Itamar Ben-Gvir.
