Rapyd CEO Eric Stillman Raises Offer to Buy Majority Stake in Maccabi Tel Aviv
Eric Stillman, founder and CEO of Rapyd and main sponsor of Maccabi Tel Aviv, revealed in the latest episode of "Double Dribble" that he submitted an improved offer to the Rekenati family to purchase their shares in the club. The new proposal, sent to Udi and Shay Rekenati about a week and a half after his initial offer, includes two components: a premium of 20 million dollars above the price the Rekenati family paid for the Federman family's shares, totaling 120 million dollars for 58 percent ownership of Maccabi Tel Aviv, and an additional 30 million dollars injected directly into the club's funds. The investment is structured to avoid dilution of other shareholders' stakes and aims to strengthen the team to achieve its sporting goals, according to the message conveyed to the Rekenati family.
Stillman previously acquired half of the Federman family's shares in May, amounting to 14.5 percent of Maccabi Tel Aviv. However, when the Rekenati family exercised their right to purchase all of the Federman shares, Stillman was left outside the club's ownership. The full episode featuring Eric Stillman on "Double Dribble" will be released soon.
