Itamar Ben Gvir Condemns Left-Wing Groups for Opposing Shin Bet's Role in Arab Sector Crime Fight

Itamar Ben Gvir, Israel's National Security Minister, criticized left-wing organizations and the National Committee of Arab Local Authorities for petitioning the High Court against his decision to involve the Shin Bet security service in combating crime within the Arab sector. The decision, made last week jointly by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, and the Minister for Social Equality, was delayed due to legal advice from the Attorney General but now allows Shin Bet to address murders in the Arab community.

Ben Gvir accused the petitioners of hypocrisy, stating that while they have long blamed the government for violence in the Arab sector, his ministry has been working tirelessly to fight the culture of murder and restore governance. He said, "Now that we have succeeded in recruiting Shin Bet for this mission, who rushes to petition the High Court against it? Extreme left-wing organizations together with the National Committee of Arab Local Authorities."

He further alleged that these groups seek to protect criminals and obscure the allocation of funds, while later blaming the state for the ongoing violence. Ben Gvir vowed to continue his efforts vigorously until the "governance revolution" is complete.
