Hapoel Jerusalem Assembles Most Expensive Roster in Club History for 2026/27 Season

Hapoel Jerusalem is nearing completion of its roster for the 2026/27 basketball season, assembling the most expensive squad in the club's history. Under the leadership of coach Sasha Obradovic, who signed a historic three-year contract worth $750,000 per season, the team is making significant financial investments. Star guard Jared Harper, the highest-paid player in club history, extended his contract through the 2028/29 season with a salary of $1.7 million per year, tripling his initial contract from two years ago.

The club's new signings reflect a major salary increase compared to previous seasons. David Rudy leads the new acquisitions with a $1.5 million annual salary on a one-year contract plus an option for another year. Kenny Lofton Jr. signed for $1.3 million for one season, while Devontae Cacok and Shake Milton each secured $1 million per season, with Cacok on a two-year deal. Jaylen Smith joined for $850,000 per season on a two-year contract.

Returning players include Jared Harper at $1.7 million, Nimrod Levi at $650,000, Eitan Borg and Roy Huber each at $300,000, and Gabi Chachashvili at $180,000. The total projected salary for the current 10-player roster stands at approximately $8.78 million, a substantial rise from last season's $5.785 million for 13 players. Notably, five players now earn at least $1 million annually, compared to only Harper last year.

Hapoel Jerusalem is also close to signing Serbian center Dusan Milicic (27 years old, 2.15 meters), who played last season for Cluj in the EuroCup. This addition would further strengthen the club's ambitions for the upcoming season.
