Yossi Dagan Awards Honorary Citizenship of Samaria to Dutch PM Candidate Geert Wilders

During his current visit to Israel, Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, awarded honorary citizenship of Samaria to Geert Wilders, the Dutch prime ministerial candidate. The ceremony took place at the opening of the ninth Alma Festival at the Revava amphitheater, in front of thousands of residents and participants. The honorary citizenship was granted in recognition of Wilders' longstanding support for Israel and the settlements in Judea and Samaria.

Both Dagan and Wilders addressed the crowd, highlighting their shared challenges and the common struggle for the future of Europe and Israel. Dagan praised Wilders as a true friend who stands by Israel daily, expressing deep appreciation on behalf of himself and the Samaria residents. Wilders thanked Dagan for the honor, expressing his love for the Land of Israel and his strong connection to Samaria, calling the region special to his heart.

Wilders also conveyed a message of encouragement to the residents, calling their efforts a miracle and assuring them they are not alone, with supporters worldwide backing Israel. During his visit, Wilders met with key Israeli officials including Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, and Housing Minister Yoav Kisch. Discussions focused on security issues, counterterrorism, and strengthening bilateral ties.

In addition to political meetings, Wilders toured the Samaria region with Dagan, visiting Sha-Nur, ancient Samaria, and the Gilad Farm, where he offered condolences to the family of Benyahu Maltz, a fallen soldier.
