Maccabi Bnei Raina in advanced talks with former Hapoel Jerusalem striker Ibe Ransom
Ibe Ransom, the 23-year-old striker of Nigerian origin who also holds an Israeli ID, has become one of the hottest free agents in Israel’s second division after leaving Hapoel Jerusalem at the end of his two-year contract. According to the report, he scored two goals in all competitions this season and five the season before.
The newly relegated Maccabi Bnei Raina is in advanced negotiations with Ransom and sees him as the ideal replacement for Vitali Damashkan. Interest in the player also comes from M.S. Ashdod, Hapoel Rishon LeZion and other National League clubs.
Ransom is still waiting for offers from the Premier League, but the article says the deals already on the table from National League sides are financially higher than what he earned at Hapoel Jerusalem. His Israeli citizenship and free-agent status have made him especially attractive to clubs in the second tier.
